Day tours to visit Kom Ombo and Edfu temples from Aswan or Luxor  Your personal Egyptologist will collect you from your Aswan ( Luxor ) hotel at 8am for your private day tour of the riverside temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu. Your first stop will be Kom Ombo, under an hour’s drive north of Aswan, which stands on high grounds overlooking the Nile. This is an unusual temple, built during the time of Cleopatra’s dynasty, the Ptolemies, The Temple of Kom Ombo features two sanctuaries dedicated to the two gods of the temple; Sobek and Horus. They consist of two similar rectangular halls which are thought to be among the most ancient sections built in the temple, as they were constructed during the reign of Ptolemy VI. The site is home to a quirky Crocodile Museum, home to some of the 300-odd crocodile mummies discovered on site. Surrounded by fields of sugarcane and corn, Kom Ombo is a pleasant agriculture town that now hosts many Nubians were displaced when the Nile flooded their hometowns after the construction of the Nasser Lake.
After exploring Kom Ombo, you will continue north to Edfu for the majestic temple of Horus. Many experts consider this temple, which took almost 200 years to build, the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to myth, it was here that Horus avenged the murder of his father, Osiris, by killing Seth. the most important monument in the city of Edfu is the Temple of Horus, one of the most beautiful and preserved Temples in Egypt. Its origins likely date back to the Second Intermediate Period, but the actual Temple only dates back to Ptolemaic times. This temple has one of the best surviving pylons among temples in Egypt today . Your tour finishes at 4 pm. You can choose between drop-off at your hotel in Aswan or a free transfer to a new hotel in Luxor.
